Christian initiation for Adults

Adult Cristian Initiation

For an adult that would like to become Catholic, there is a process of Christian initiation. In St Laurence this process normally will start on the second half of the year, until Easter of the following year.

This formative process is done hopefully in a group, weekly meeting in which we learn the basics of the Catholic life and beliefs, we learn to know God as a Father, and the church as a living community.

  • For those of other Christain denomination that would like to become Catholics,

  • And for Lapse Catholics who have not yet received the first Holy Communion or Confirmation.

What to do

It all starts with contacting someone in the parish. for many, you come to mass and after mass, you make contact with the priest.

You could contact the office directly either by phone or in person, and have a chat with the priest. We go from there.

if you have any questions, bring them along, and do not hesitate to ask if you have any doubt whatsoever.

Marriage

According to the original divine plan this conjugal union is indissoluble, as Jesus Christ affirmed: “What God has joined together, let no man put asunder” (Mark 10:9).

If you would like to be married in the Catholic church, please contact the office. The priest will arrange the pre-marriage talks with you as well as all the necessary paperwork.

Priesthood and Consecrated Life

From the very beginning of the Church, there were men and women who set out to follow Christ with greater liberty and to imitate him more closely, by practicing the evangelical counsels.

If you feel the Lord is calling you to the consecrated life, please speak with your priest. He will help you discern what the Lord is speaking to your heart.
